Who we are

EAM was started in February 1983 as an electrical business “EAM Electrical Contractors” by the Managing Director, Edwin Maxwell, as sole trader employing one operative.

The business has since developed into a general contracting company E.A.M Building Contractors Ltd trading as E.A.M Building Group.

EAM aims to provide excellent and consistent customer service through a directly employed team of well-trained qualified and motivated employees. Skilled operatives include bricklayers, electricians, joiners, painters, plasterers and plumbers with NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications.

Our management team is professionally qualified, in their respective disciplines. All staff are encouraged and supported within our means to undertake further development training as necessary.

Site supervisors are trained in Construction Site Safety Awareness and regularly updated on changes in Health & Safety at Work legislation.

EAM recognises communication within the organisation as a key element of good management and holds regular monthly breakfast team meetings to inform all staff of business developments, discuss work issues, and deliver ‘Tool Box Talks’ and organisational systems training.

In recognition of EAM’s commitment to staff training and development the company was awarded Investors in People Status in March 2003, successfully reassessed in February 2006.
